  • Ingredients: Organic rapeseed oil

    Recommended Maximum Heating Temperature 100°C

    Product volumes: 250ml, 500ml, 1L

Rapeseed oil, which is also known as canola in the USA, is produced from the seed of the yellow-blossomed rape (colza) plant. It contains all three omega fatty acids as well as vitamin E. It is said to be one of the healthiest culinary oils available and is low in saturated fat with heart healthy properties.

    Organic vs Conventional

Although most people don’t realise it, a lot of vegetable spreads and oils in the UK are actually made from or include rapeseed oil, however, it is often highly refined and artificially treated. Our organic oil is unrefined, cold pressed and GM free. In terms of natural farming, rapeseed is also becoming more popular as it can be used in rotation with other grains such as wheat, maintaining a healthy balance in the soil.

    How to use

The flavour of rapeseed oil is much more subtle than oils such as olive, which makes it ideal for dishes where a gentler taste is required. In cold dishes it adds a hint of nuttiness, so it is delicious in salad dressings, dipping sauces, marinated vegetables and hummus. It can also be used to make flapjacks, crostini or drizzled onto soups or guacamole.

    Nutrition

Rapeseed oil is renowned for its excellent nutritional profile. It has a balance of Omega 3,6 and 9 fatty acids, is a good source of Vitamin E and has one of the lowest amounts of saturated fat of any culinary oil.

To compare it with another healthy oil, it has:

    • 6 times more Omega 3 fatty acids than Extra Virgin Olive Oil
    • More vitamin E than Extra Virgin Olive Oil

    Product Codes: SA197 (250ml), SA198 (500ml), SA199 (1L)

    • Sugar Free
    • Salt Free

Organic Rapeseed Oil

I've loved this oil since i first bought it last year. I originally used the large 1L bottle and it lasted for ages. I mainly used it as a marinading oil for chicken etc and sometimes for grilled fish, and it's great. I had a shop bought bottle but haven't bothered with it because it's nowhere near the quality of Clearspring's oils.

organic rapeseed oil

Absolutely fantastic, you can tell by the color how healthy it is.
The only problem is, it came in a big box full of plastic pallets which you cannot recycle, and that is not good enough for me as i try to recycle as much as i can.

Thank you for the review Elizabeth! We are pleased to say that the little loose fills are actually made of corn starch, so they can be composted. This is what we use: https://www.rajapack.co.uk/protective-packaging/void-loose-fill/eco-flo-biodegradable-loose-fill_PDT11575.html Glad you like our Rapeseed oil :)
