Organic Young Jackfruit Chunks

Had a little trouble opening the jar but after a bit of extra effort it was all good and I drained and shredded the chunks into smaller strands and I added a chilli sauce I had mede previously and let the jack fruit soak up the sauce for an hour. Then I slowly cooked it over a layer of thinly sliced red onion. Slow is the key thing here, otherwise they can be a bit chewy, Best to remove any bits that seem too hard before cooking. If you would like to eat less meat then this is high in protein and fibre and nobody has to die!

Adds a lovely texture when filling out a vegan curry; absorbs and carries the flavours of whatever spices used very well.
(I would not say it is a "meat replacement"; simply a few small pieces from an enormous fruit).

Bought 2 jars of jackfruit chunks. They can be eaten straight out of the jar or added to whatever dish you fancy. I made a vegan 'tuna' salad with it. It was finger-licking good. Will be buying again in the near future. Have to make vegan 'tuna' sarnies next.

I have cooked this in a Thai style curry and it was good.
