Grown and hand-picked to traditional methods in the mountainous Zaghouan region of Tunisia, the olives in Clearspring Organic Tunisian Extra Virgin Olive Oil have a mild and delicious flavour. The fatty acid profile of this oil is quite special and makes it suitable for cooking at high temperatures as much as for drizzling over your favourite dishes.
Olive cultivation in Tunisia dates back as far as the 8th century BC when the Romans introduced it; since that time the olive has become an integral part of Tunisian culture with both culinary and cosmetic uses. Today Tunisia has the second largest collection of olive groves in the world after Spain, so olives form a significant part of their cuisine. We have chosen an exceptional quality of oil which can even be used for deep-frying. Clearspring Tunisian Extra Virgin Olive Oil is produced near the town El Fahs in the Zaghouan region of northern Tunisia.

This oil has been perfect for vegan baking where a mild-tasting oil is needed and so much better than cheap "vegetable" oils that are so bad for us. My cakes have turned out beautifully. I've also found it perfect for frying. I will always use it now.
This oil is really nice and very high quality, it becomes cloudy in the fridge! I know by word of mouth, that in Tunisia many young people coming from Sicily set up enterprises producing extra virigin olive oil, by hand picked olives (a typical southern Italy techniche learned from the Greeks). They choosen Tunisia because the climate is very similar to Sicily so they can grow the same cultivars. Great Choice!
Wonderful olive oil at a great price. Clearspring are just superb.
Very high quality oil. An great alternative to traditional Italian or Spanish oil. Also like the fact it supports the Tunisian economy as they really need it.
I have been concerned in the past about frying in olive oil, having read that high heat damages olive oil.
This oil fries up to 190 C, excellent!
