In the hills around Kyoto, the third generation of the Nagata family use special organic methods, known as Nature Farming, to produce a range of exquisite green teas for Clearspring.
The ancient farming approach used by the Nagatas builds up soil vitality by maintaining a semi-wild environment, where the plants are not overly protected and gain nourishment from repeated applications of compost made from tea clippings and dried leaves, which together with regular mulching helps control weed growth and maintain soil moisture.
Whilst most tea farmers spray their plants with pesticides and herbicides 15-20 times a year, the Nagatas' tea bushes have a vigour that enables them to thrive without chemical inputs.
The Nagatas' yields may be lower than average but their plants have far less mould and blight. They remain productive for up to 40 years, twice as long as the typical tea bush treated with chemicals.
As well as growing tea, the Nagatas undertake the skilful blanching, drying and roasting processes to bring out the unique flavours of each individual blend.
After wading through different green teas I decided to search for the healthiest one and after researching found that best green tea is the one that come from Japan and is organic so I tried this one . I have to say the taste is incredible ....I'm now an official organic sensha green tea addict!
Honestly I rate this tea and the tumeric mixture one as well . Highly Reccomend the tea and the company
This is a very light refreshing green tea with grassy notes. My favourite green tea is the Sencha type is this is a great example of that type of tea. Don't over brew it, 3 minutes max, and use off the boil hot water
I usually buy my green tea from my local specialist tea and coffee shop, but I thought I would try somewhere new for a change. This organic Japanese Sencha tea tasted really good, but I was very disappointed there was so much dust-sized tea leaves in the mix. While there were lots of large leaves, these tiny leaves makes me think of poor quality tea and they are a devil to clean out of the tea-leaf holder. So for this reason I may not purchase them again.
