Clearspring Amazake - Sweet Grains Dessert is made using time-honoured production processes and just 3 simple organic ingredients - water, whole grains and a pinch of salt. These undergo true alchemy to produce this thick, creamy, dairy-free traditional Japanese dessert. Literally translated as “sweet sake” a koji culture converts the carbohydrates from the whole grains into simple sugars giving rise to the naturally sweet flavour of amazake.

In Japan Amazake (sometimes spelt Amasake), is normally consumed as a drink where it is diluted with hot water, sieved and drunk as a comforting winter warmer. However, it is very versatile and can also be used to add texture and protein to your favourite fruit smoothie, natural sweetness to pancakes and muffins or as a batter to make dairy-free French Toast.

Rich, creamy and sweet - but no added sugar!

This is a wonderful product! Rich, creamy and sweet but no added sugar. Just the sweetness of the fermented rice. Barely any fat too. Many uses, but I use in place of cream or custard on apple pie and other deserts.
