Avocado Toast with Furikake or Shichimi

A simple classic, reimagined with bold Japanese flavours. Grilled sourdough is topped with creamy avocado, a drizzle of Clearspring Tamari for deep umami, and finished with your choice of Clearspring Furikake for savoury crunch or Shichimi for gentle heat. Minimal ingredients, maximum flavour.

Ingredients

  • 2 thick slices sourdough bread
  • 2 tsp Clearspring Organic Japanese Yaemon Tamari Soya Sauce
  • 2 tsp Clearspring Extra Virgin Olive Oil
  • 1 to 2 tsp Clearspring Organic Furikake Sprinkle
  • 1 to 2 tsp Organic Shichimi Togarashi - Seven Spice Blend
  • a squeeze of lemon juice
  • a pinch of Clearspring Traditional Unrefined Sea Salt

Directions

  1. Brush olive oil on the sliced sourdough and grill over medium heat on cast iron pan until charred. 
  2. Slice the avocado and arrange over the warm toast.
  3. Drizzle with tamari and a little lemon juice, if using.
  4. Finish with 1 to 2 tsp Furikake for savoury depth or Shichimi for a warming heat. Serve immediately.
