    Clearspring Gluten Free Organic Soya Chunks (also known as Textured Vegetable Protein or TVP) are a quick cook vegetarian protein which can be used in a multitude of recipes instead of meat. Soya beans are simply cold pressed to remove their oil content then steamed under pressure to form chunks and finally dried. With a tender yet substantial texture it is extremely versatile and will take on the flavour of whatever dish you are cooking.

  • To rehydrate: Add soya mince/chunks/medallions to boiling water or stock and soak for 10 minutes. Drain and squeeze out excess water. Then use in any recipe in place of mince/chunks/medallions.

Great Quality Soya Chunks

I love these soya chunks for many reasons. Clearspring quality is excellent and the size of the chunks is good. They keep their shape and have a nice chewy texture even after cooking for a while. I love these in Shanghai Borscht soup instead of beef chunks or in shicken noodle soup. Good in any dish that needs chunks. There is a tad too much dust in the bottom of the bags. I weighed this the other day and ended up with 25 grams of dust on a 200 grams bag. While you can use the dust to thicken sauces I’d rather have more chunks please.
