Clearspring Organic [1] Hojicha, roasted green tea has a refreshing, mild and toasted taste
It is prepared at Nagata Chaen, Kyoto, from select green tea leaves that are steamed and then gently roasted to produce the distinctive hojicha flavour and aroma.
As the leaves are left to grow longer than for sencha they have a lower caffeine content and because they are roasted they have less astringency.
Hojicha is a pleasing light tea and the most popular everyday drink in Japan.
