Clearspring’s range of organic fruit and seed bars is the brainchild of Claudio Patrucco, who has been a pioneer of organic, sugar free foods since 1974.

He carefully devises each recipe and rigorously selects the ingredients, and then looks for a specialist producer who can be best entrusted to carry out the production.

In the case of our snack bars, this producer is Rivoltini, a family run business based at Vescovato in the Lombardy region of Italy. Established in 1930, the business is currently owned by the three Rivoltini siblings, Massimo, Marina and Graziano. The company’s commitment to organic production, however, began over 25 years ago when their father introduced it.

Thee are three varieties of Organic Snack Bar in the Clearspring range:a Sesame, Sesame & Raisin and Almond, all of which use the finest organically certified ingredients.

Corn syrup is one of the bars’ most important ingredients, as it imparts a gentler sweetness and longer lasting energy boost than that of refined sugar, glucose or honey.

The bars are produced by hand in batches by small teams who oversee the production process from start to finish. This not only ensures that quality standards are maintained, but gives staff a more rewarding and satisfying job.

In each case, the mixture is cooked in double bottomed vats. After being heated, it is left to cool before being rolled out, cut into bars and packed. Waste water from the production process is recycled wherever possible and is used to water plants and even heat homes, thanks to a nearby biomass installation.
