Clearspring’s Dried Daikon is from our new supplier, Matsumoto-san, from Kumamoto, Kyushu and the product has a new Clearspring label.
You may already be familiar with the crunchy, satisfying flavour of daikon pickled in rice bran, or takuan, as it is often known. A much-loved classic pickle, rich in Vitamin B and lactobacilli, takuan provides an excellent accompaniment to any meal, with the crisp flavour and texture working especially well alongside rice dishes and miso soup.
Now with the launch of Clearspring Dried Daikon, you can unharness the power of this essential and versatile Japanese vegetable, reputed for its unique ability to break down fats, in your recipes. Although it can be enjoyed all the year round, daikon is particularly suitable for autumn and winter dishes, combining perfectly with root vegetables and suiting soups and stews.
