Tamaki Sake

Body:

Tamaki sake is made using the traditional, time-consuming yamahai method which results in a full-bodied, yet mellow flavour. The result is a robust, characterful flavour which means that it can be enjoyed chilled, at room temperature or lukewarm (around 40 degrees centigrade).

It is brewed at the 140 year old family-owned Akita Seishu brewery in Akita prefecture in the north of Honshu, Japan's main island.

The sole ingredients are rice which has been grown to meet Japanese organic standards and the soft snow melt water from the nearby spring. whilst pure mountain air and cold winters provide the ideal cool environment for the traditional slow method of sake brewing.

Tamaki is a Junmai-Ginjo, meaning that it is a pure rice sake with no added sugar or alcohol and that the rice has been polished so that 60% of the grain remains.
