Tamaki Sake

Tamaki sake is exquisitely full-bodied, yet mellow tasting and comes from the 140 year old family owned Akita Seishu brewery in Akita prefecture in the north of Honshu, Japan's main island.

Rice grown by natural, chemical-free methods and soft snow melt water from the nearby spring are the sole ingredients, whilst pure mountain air and cold winters provide the ideal cool environment for the traditional slow method of sake brewing.

As well as being Junmai-shu, meaning that it is pure rice sake with no added sugar or alcohol, Tamaki is also made using the traditional and time-consuming yamahai method, which results in a more rounded and characterful flavour.
